AirTran Airways is excited to announce the Milwaukee Route Map competition. Local artists will have their work displayed in the Milwaukee Art Museum during an event in October.
Guests at the event will determine the winning entries. The grand prize winner will be awarded 4 round-trip coach tickets to any destination AirTran flies within the continental U.S. The second and third place winners will win two tickets to any destination AirTran flies within the continental U.S.
Assignment
Create original artwork based on AirTran's Milwaukee flight service map. The top entries will be shown at a reception AirTran is hosting at the Museum in early October.
Benefit to artists

Work will be judged on quality, appropriateness and desirability. A team of area professionals will judge all entries and select the finalists. From there, reception attendees will select the winners by ballot.

AIRTRAN AIRWAYS ROUTE MAP CONTEST
Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. THIS CONTEST IS ONLY OPEN TO LEGAL WISCONSIN RESIDENTS 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. Void outside Wisconsin and where prohibited by law.
Please read these rules before entering the Route Map Contest (“Contest”). By participating, you agree to be bound by these rules and represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements.
- Eligibility: The Contest is open ONLY to legal Wisconsin residents 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, directors and officers of AirTran Airways, its affiliates, subsidiaries, sales representatives, distributors, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses) and household members of each are not eligible to participate. Contest is subject to federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void outside Wisconsin and where prohibited by law.
- The Contest: The winner of the Contest is the person who creates artwork best fitting the judging criteria outlined below in Paragraph 5 ("Artwork"). The Artwork must be hand delivered to Cramer-Krasselt, 246 E. Chicago Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202 ("Cramer-Krasselt Offices"), and a registration form will need to be completed at the time of delivery (registration form and art together "Entry"). The Artwork must be based on a map of AirTran Airways’ flight service from Milwaukee, available at www.airtran.com/routemapcontest. Limit one (1) Entry per person/mailing address.
- Contest Period: The Contest begins September 9, 2009 at 9:00 AM Central Standard Time ("CST") and ends October 5, 2009 at 5:00 PM CST. Final Artwork must be received at the Cramer-Krasselt Offices by 5:00 PM, Monday, October 5, 2009. The Artwork must be of a reasonable size/form, no larger than 3 (three) feet x 3 (three) feet in dimension and/or 20 (twenty) pounds in weight so that it can be easily transported. Sponsor is not responsible for any damage done to the Artwork once it has been received by Cramer-Krasselt. All Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
- The Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entry which does not comply with these Official Rules. Unless prohibited by applicable law, by submitting an Entry, entrants grant the Sponsor and its agents the right to reproduce, videotape, photograph and otherwise, use, adapt, edit and/or modify their Entry and to use the same in any way, in any and all media, now known or hereinafter invented, without limitation, and without consideration to the participant. Participants hereby waive any droit morale or similar right which they may be deemed to have in their Entry, and will not have the right to approve any use of their Entry by Sponsor.
- Artwork Conditions: By submitting an Entry, you agree that your submission is gratuitous and made without restriction, and will not place Sponsor under any obligation, that Sponsor is free to disclose or otherwise disclose the ideas contained in the Artwork on a non-confidential basis to anyone or otherwise use the ideas without any additional compensation to you. You acknowledge that, by acceptance of your submission, Sponsor does not waive any rights to use similar or related ideas previously known to Sponsor, or developed by its employees, or obtained from sources other than you. By submitting a Entry you warrant and represent that it: (a) is your original work, (b) has not been previously published, (c) has not previous awards, (d) does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity; and (f) and that publication of the Artwork via various, will not infringe on the rights of any third party rights. Any such entrant will indemnify and hold harmless, Sponsor and Contest Parties from any claims to the contrary. Any entrant whose work contains elements not owned by the entrant (such as, but not limited to, depictions of persons, buildings, trademarks or logos) must be able to provide legal releases for such use including Sponsor’s use of such entry, in a form satisfactory to administrator, upon request, prior to award of prize and/or naming of entrant as a Finalist. Entry: 1) cannot be sexually explicit or suggestive, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, profane or pornographic, contain nudity or any materially dangerous activity; 2) cannot promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message; 3) cannot be obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group; 4) cannot defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging remarks about Sponsor or its products, or other people, products or companies; 5) cannot contain trademarks, logos or trade dress owned by others, or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, without permission, or contain any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses; 6) cannot contain copyrighted materials owned by others (including photographs, and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media) without permission; 7) cannot contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead, without permission; 8) cannot communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which Sponsor wishes to associate; and 9) cannot depict, and cannot itself, be in violation of any law.
- Judging/Awarding: Submitted Artwork will be judged by an independent judging agency on the following equally weighted criteria: 1) quality, 2) creativity, 3) appropriateness to theme and 4) aesthetic appeal. The ten (10) Entries with the highest score will be deemed finalists ("Finalists") and will continue to the voting portion of the Contest (provided ten (10) qualifying entries are received). Finalists' Artwork will then be displayed at a private, invite only event ("Event") to be held at the Milwaukee Art Museum on or about October 7, 2009 for public voting. Event attendees ("Attendee") will have the opportunity to view the Finalists' Artwork and vote for their first, second and third place choice based on the above criteria. Limit one (1) vote per Attendee. Winners, subject to verification, will be notified by mail or phone within twenty four (24) hours of the tallying of the votes. Sponsor is not responsible for any change in entrant's mailing address, email address and/or telephone number. The decisions of the Judges in all matters pertaining to this Contest are Final and participants agree to be bound thereby.
- Prizes: One (1) first place winner will be awarded four (4) round trip coach tickets to anywhere AirTran Airways flies in the continental U.S. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $1,000.00. One (1) second place winner will be awarded two (2) round trip coach tickets to anywhere AirTran Airways flies in the continental U.S. ARV: $500.00 One (1) third place winner will be awarded two (2) round trip coach tickets to anywhere AirTran Airways flies in the continental U.S. ARV: $500.00 Winners must pay all federal, state and local taxes. Tickets are subject to some availability and some restrictions may apply. Travel must be completed by May 31, 2010. Meals, gratuities, luggage fees, lodging charges and any other expenses not set forth herein are the sole responsibility of the winner, who must assume all risks and liabilities associated with travel. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") of all prizes is $2,000, depending on airfare fluctuations and time of travel. The difference in value of prize as stated herein and value at time of prize notification, if any, will not be awarded. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of prizes shall be allowed, except that the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Limit one (1) prize per person/household.
- Prize Acceptance: The winners will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and/or a release of liability and publicity before being awarded prize. By accepting prize, the winner agrees that his/her Entry will be deemed a Work Made For Hire under the Copyright laws of the United States, but if it cannot be so deemed, then the winner irrevocably assigns and transfers to Sponsor and its respective officers, directors, employees and agents (the “Contest Parties”) (and agrees to confirm in writing) all of his/her right, title and interest in and to his/her Entry, including all but not limited to all copyright and trademark rights which he or she may have, in the United States and worldwide, therein, for consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged. Upon request of Sponsor, winner shall execute and deliver such additional instrument of assignment, as may be solely deemed by Sponsor, reasonably necessary to establish the ownership of record of the right, title and interest in and to the Entry and of the copyrights transferred and “Moral Rights of Authors” waived under these Official Rules. Should Sponsor fail to request the said assignment as stated, that shall not be deemed a waiver of Sponsor’s rights and Sponsor may at a later time request the assignment.
- General Release. By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees (and agrees to confirm in writing): (a) to release the Sponsor Contest Parties from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Contest or with the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or travel related therewith or use of the Entry (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries and losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light); (b) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; (c) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (d) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs.
- Consent. Unless prohibited by applicable law, by entering the Contest, entrants consent to the use of their name, likeness and image, address and/or prize information and/or contest Entry for promotional and other purposes without further payment, except where prohibited by law.
- Governing Law. By entering, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, participant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of State of Wisconsin, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. By entering, entrants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state and local courts for the State of Wisconsin.
