retrieve, change or cancel a reservation

Any AirTran customer may retrieve and view their booked itineraries. If you originally booked your reservation at airtran.com, you also have the option to make changes or cancellations at airtran.com.

Retrieve Your Itinerary

Both members and non-members at airtran.com can retrieve and view their itineraries online.

Members: To easily retrieve any bookings you’ve made under your account, log in to your account, and then select ‘My Bookings’ from the navigation bar on the left side of the page. My Bookings page will display all travel booked under your account, both completed and future flights.

To view the details of a reservation, click on the blue ‘View’ button on the left side of the listing. On the Itinerary details page, the change and cancel options will be presented if they are available for the reservation.

Non-Members: If you are not a member of airtran.com and A+ Rewards, go to the Find Itinerary page to retrieve your reservation. To verify that you are associated with the reservation, we ask you to provide the following reservation details:

  • Confirmation Number
  • Passenger Namer
  • Origin and Destination

If you wish to change or cancel the reservation, we also request:

  • Last 4 digits of original credit card used for purchase

We request the credit card number from the original purchase to ensure that no one unauthorized may access your reservation to change or cancel it.

After entering your information, click the ‘Find Itinerary’ button. Your itinerary will be displayed. In the top right corner of the page, the change and cancel options will be presented if they are available for the reservation.

Please note that you may only make changes to reservations that were originally booked at airtran.com. To change a reservation that was booked by phone or through a travel agency, please call us at 1-800-AIR-TRAN (1-800-247-8726).

Selecting Your Changes

For all reservations booked at airtran.com, you have the ability to change or cancel your itinerary online. You can:

  • Change

    • Change the dates, flights or cities of your travel
    • Change part of or your entire itinerary
  • Cancel

    • Cancel your entire reservation
    • Cancel one part of your itinerary
  • Seat Assignment

    • Change your seat assignment (if eligible)

Click on the ‘Change Flights’ or ‘Cancel Flights’ button in the top right corner of your itinerary to begin the process.

To Begin the Process

A check-box for canceling your entire reservation appears near the top of the Itinerary page with your confirmation number. Check-boxes for a change option and a cancel option appear next to the departing and returning portions of your itinerary.

Click on the question mark icon next to each change or cancel option to display the fare rules for that part of your itinerary. If an option is not available, it will be crossed out.

Click on the check-boxes for your chosen options, then scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click the ‘Continue’ button. A confirmation alert will appear to confirm your selected options.

The Change Process

You may change the flights, dates or cities of your travel for one part or all of your itinerary. Selecting and confirming your new flights is a straightforward process.

  1. Choose Trips To Be Changed: On the ‘Change/cancel Flights’ page, a check-box labeled ‘Change Itinerary’ appears to the right of your departing flight and another check-box appears next to your returning flight. Click the appropriate check-boxes for the flights you wish to change.

    Click on the question mark icon next to each change or cancel option to display the fare rules for that part of your itinerary. If an option is not available, it will be crossed out.

    Select your flights to be changed, then scroll down the page and click on ‘Continue’ button. A confirmation alert will appear to confirm your selected options.

  2. Search For New Flights: On the Search for New Flights page, you will see your current flights, as well as form fields for submitting a new flight search. Adjust your search fields as needed for your new travel plans and click ‘Continue.’

    To see other flight options for your existing flight dates, simply submit the search form without any changes.

    Please note that you may only change your arrival and destination cities if you have chosen to change all parts of your itinerary.

  3. Select Your New Flights: On the Flight Results page, select your new flight(s). If you are changing only one portion of your itinerary, the other portion will be shown for convenience. After selecting your new flights, click on the ‘Continue’ button.

    If you do not want to select any of the displayed flights, you may click the ‘New Search’ button to begin your flight search over. To leave your itinerary unchanged, click on the ‘Cancel Changes’ button and you will be returned to the Itinerary page.

  4. Confirm Your New Selections: After selecting your new flights, review the transaction details on the Confirm Changes page. Be sure to note any fees or fare increases and review the fare rules for your selections before proceeding.

    The Pricing section will state the changes made and whether you will receive a credit, a refund, or have an amount due. The ‘details’ link will provide a breakdown of fares, fees, and/or credits for each item listed. The fare rules to the right will display the terms and conditions for the fares you are purchasing.

    All changes to coach fares that occur more than 4 hours after the original booking time incur a $150 fee per passenger. If you change your reservation within 4 hours of the time of your original booking at airtran.com, we will waive the change fee normally charged for all coach fares. Note that any increase in fares associated with itinerary changes will still be applied.

    To proceed with the changes to your itinerary, click the ‘Confirm & Continue’ button.

    To leave your itinerary unchanged, click on the ‘Cancel Changes’ button and you will be returned to the Itinerary page.

  5. Pay Any Additional Amount Due (If Applicable): If your changes result in an additional amount due, you will proceed to the Payment page. If you do not owe any additional money, you will skip the Payment page and proceed directly to the Itinerary Receipt.

    When you have entered and verified all your payment information, click on the ‘Purchase’ button to submit payment and complete your transaction.

    Processing your payment may take a minute or longer, so please be patient, and do NOT click the Stop, Refresh or Back buttons.

    If the Receipt page does not display after a few minutes, then your purchase transaction has not been completed. Please call us for assistance at 1-800-AIR-TRAN (1-800-247-8726).

  6. Confirmation Receipt: The Itinerary Confirmation page will be displayed and will include the pricing and payment information for your transaction, including all payments made as well as any credit amount added to your account or any refunds due.

The Cancellation Process

To cancel either part of or your entire itinerary, you will go through 3 steps.

  1. Choose Trips To Be Cancelled. On the ‘Change/cancel Flights’ page, there are three cancellation options:

    • One check-box labeled ‘Cancel Itinerary’ appears to the right of your confirmation number. Click this check-box to cancel your entire itinerary.

    • Two check-boxes labeled ‘Cancel Flight’ appear, one next to your departing flight and one next to your returning flight. Click one of these check-boxes to cancel only the departing or returning flight in your itinerary.

    Select your cancellation choices, then scroll down the page and click on the ‘Continue’ button. A confirmation alert will appear to confirm your selected options.

  2. Confirm Your Decision: You will then see the Confirm Cancellation page. The Pricing section will present both the previous transaction and current transaction details. It will also indicate whether you will receive a credit, refund, or an amount due. The ‘details’ link will provide a breakdown of fares, fees, or credits for each transaction.

    If you are canceling only a portion of your itinerary, the Fare Rules for the remaining flight(s) of your itinerary will be displayed to the right of the pricing section.

    Any reservations and/or tickets purchased and cancelled within 24 hours may be refunded without penalty by calling the AirTran Airways Reservation Desk at 1-800-AIR-TRAN (1-800-247-8726). The refund will then be processed to the form of payment of the ticket purchase. Cancellations must be made at least one hour prior to departure or customer forfeits reservation and any monies paid against the reservation.

    To proceed with the cancellation, click the ‘Confirm & Continue’ button.

    To leave your itinerary unchanged, click on the ‘Cancel Changes’ button and you will be returned to the Itinerary page.

  3. Confirmation Receipt: The Confirmed Itinerary page will be displayed and will include the pricing and payment information for your transaction, including any credit amount added to your account or any refunds due.
